Many times people assume that when you eat a dessert, it's full of only the worst kind of ingredients for your body. This can be true, especially if you're buying commercial, which is why I rarely eat dessert outside my own kitchen.
Okay, I rarely eat out.
I like to know what's going in my food. The FAQ page will answer questions regarding some of the specific brands and types of ingredients I use.
Here's one I was recently asked.
What brand of sugar do you use?
I use Wholesome Sweeteners Fair Trade Organic Sugar because I can buy 10-pound bags at Costco. I prefer the taste and quality of the sugar, but keep in mind that any recipe in which I use sugar, regular granulated sugar works just as well.
I also buy my brown sugar at Costco because they sell C&H brand, again because of the quality.
When I want to use a sugar substitute, I use Truvia. There is a taste difference between Truvia and regular sugar, but it's my favorite alternative when I need to bake a sugar-free (or no-extra-sugar-added) dish.
